1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following Terms and Conditions apply to online transactions
between Aalto University shop and its customers. Customers must be at
least 18 years of age.
Payment Methods
Payment methods available are Finnish netbanking (provided by Nordea,
Danske Bank, OP, Lähitapiola, Ålandsbanken, Handelsbanken Aktia and
S-pankki) and credit card (VISA, Visa Electron and MasterCard).
Corporate customers have also the option of receiving an invoice. VAT number is required.
The payment period is 30 days. The interest for late payment is charged in accordance with the Interest Act (633/1982).
Netbanks:
Paytrail Oyj (FI2122839) provides netbank related payment transfer
services in co-operation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. For
consumer the service works exactly the same way as traditional web
payments.
Payments with Visa, Visa Electron and MasterCard:
Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) acts as an implementer of the payment
handling service and as a Payment Service Provider in cooperation with
Finnish banks and credit institutions. In payments made with Visa, Visa
Electron or MasterCard Paytrail Oyj will be shown as the recipient in
the invoice and Paytrail Oyj will forward the payment to the merchant.
Paytrail Oyj is an authorized Payment Institution.

Order Confirmation
In the case of online orders, the sales contract only becomes binding
upon the confirmation of the order by Aalto University shop, sent to
the customer via e-mail.
A delivery note is sent with the ordered goods.
2. SHIPPING COSTS AND DELIVERY TIMES
Shipping Costs
The shipping costs for packages under 15 kg are as follow according to destination: Finland 5,90 euros, European union 9,90 euros, rest of the world 14,90. The shipping costs for packages over 15 kg are as follow according to destination: Finland 20 euros, European union 35 euros, rest of the world 45 euros. Any applicable customs duties or other charges are
payable by the customer.
Delivery Times
We aim to ship all items within 3-5 business days after receiving the order. [VP1] The
total delivery time of orders shipped abroad depends on the
destination. Due to logistic reasons books and other university products
are shipped separately.
Please note that although the online store is open also during public
holidays and vacation periods, any orders will not be shipped until the
end of the vacation period.
Delivery Address
By default, the delivery and billing address is the address provided
on the order form. If the billing address is different from the delivery
address (corporate customers) it must be entered in the appropriate
place on the order form.
3. COMPLAINTS AND RETURNS
Complaints
Any complaints related to an order must be sent within seven (7) days
of receipt of the order, either using the Aalto University shop online
feedback form, by email to shop@aalto.fi or by mail.
Aalto University, University products, P.O. Box 31000, 00076 Aalto (Finland).
Faulty goods will be replaced with a faultless item when possible. If
this is not possible, Aalto University Shop may grant a discount or agree to
cancel the order.
Cancellation and returns policy
Customers of the Aalto University online store have the right to return ordered items within thirty (14) days of receipt.
Orders can be cancelled by sending the ordered items to Aalto
University, University products, PO BOX 31000, 00076 Aalto, Finland. The
customer's contact details must be included with returned items.
Returns will only be accepted if the goods are in faultless condition
and they are returned without delay.
Returns related to orders from corporate customers are subject to Finnish trade legislation and the principles of fair trading.
If the returned item was paid by credit card (VISA/MasterCard), the
refund will be made within seven (7) working days of the vendor
receiving the item.
Force Majeure
Aalto University shop is not liable for restrictions, difficulties or
delays in delivery caused by events such as war, natural disasters,
import or export bans, official decrees, disruptions in general traffic
or energy distribution, industrial disputes or similar circumstances
affecting online store operations.
Other Terms
Aalto University shop is not liable for indirect damages caused by faulty goods or delays in delivery.
Settlement of Disputes
This Contract comes under Finnish law. Any disputes arising from this
Contract should primarily be settled through negotiation between the
parties. Disputes not settled within a reasonable time will be submitted
for resolution in the District Court of Helsinki.
