A Castle for Memory is a workshop and public space intervention at Lima city center, in collaboration with Lacasaida ART Space and Museo virtual de Arte y Memoria, Lima. Between 1996 and 2000, during Fujimori´s goverment, almost 300.000 people, women, poor and indigenous mainly, were sterilized by the goverment power structures under the birth control programs. Through an artefact as popular and present in all Peruvian rituals as the fireworks castle, the artists honored and showed a piece of memory hidden by the structures of the State, making it public and open.
